These terms are the agreement between you and Waypoint Digital LLC. CartCraft is a product of Waypoint Digital LLC, not a company of its own. The terms cover the CartCraft iPhone app, the web app at web.cartcraft.app, and this website. Using CartCraft means you accept them. If you do not, please do not use it.
Who can use it
You need to be 18, or the age of majority where you live, to hold an account. If you are younger you may use CartCraft with a parent or guardian who accepts these terms on your behalf. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
What CartCraft is
CartCraft plans a week of meals for your household, estimates what those meals would cost at the shops you told it you use, and turns the result into a shopping list in aisle order. It is a planning tool. It does not buy anything, it is not a shop, and it has no relationship with any retailer.
Prices are estimates, not quotes
Every price CartCraft shows is modelled, not observed. The app works from its own catalogue of typical grocery prices and adjusts it for your area. It does not read any shop’s shelf, it does not connect to any retailer’s systems, and it is not told when a price changes.
What you actually pay will differ, sometimes by a lot — prices move, promotions come and go, package sizes vary between branches, and stock runs out. Treat the totals as a guide for planning a budget, never as a quotation, an offer, or a promise. We are not responsible for the difference between an estimate and your receipt.
Food, allergies and dietary filters
CartCraft’s dietary settings are a planning convenience. They are not medical, nutritional or allergen advice, and they are not a safety system.
Recipe and product information can be incomplete or wrong, manufacturers change ingredients and processes without notice, and cross-contamination is invisible to an app. If anyone eating has a food allergy, an intolerance, or a medical dietary requirement, you must read the actual packaging on the actual product every time. Do not rely on CartCraft for that decision. If in doubt, speak to a doctor or a dietitian.
Shop names
CartCraft names real retailers so you can tell it where you shop. Those names and logos belong to their owners. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or acting for any of them, and nothing in the app should be read as a statement by a retailer about its own prices.
Your account
Keep your sign-in details to yourself and tell us at legal@cartcraft.app if you think someone else has them. Give us accurate information when you sign up. You may delete your account at any time — the privacy policy explains how.
Recipes you share
You can write your own recipes, and you can publish them to the community under a handle: to everyone, to your friends, or to people you pick. A recipe you publish stays yours. Publishing gives us permission to store it and to show it, under your handle, to the audience you chose, until you take it down, which you can do at any time. One thing outlives a takedown: a copy that somebody saved into their own household while it was up stays theirs, because by then it is part of their plan.
When you publish, a few rules apply:
- Only publish what you have the right to share. A recipe you wrote or adapted is fine; someone else’s work copied wholesale is not.
- Keep it lawful and keep it a recipe: nothing abusive, deceptive or harmful, and no personal information about other people.
- Pick a handle that is not an attempt to be somebody else. Impersonation is grounds for losing the handle, or the account.
Anyone a recipe is shared with can report it, and reports from enough separate accounts hide it automatically. We may also remove content or suspend an account over what it publishes. The verified badge is granted by us alone and cannot be bought. And because published recipes are written by other users, their dietary tags carry the same warning as everything else here: the allergy callout above applies double to a stranger’s recipe.
Sharing your household
You can invite a friend’s account into your household, and once they accept you are planning from one shared document. Everyone in a household can see and change the whole plan, so only invite people you would hand the shopping list to anyway. The owner can remove a member and a member can leave, at any time, and the plan you had before joining comes back when you go. A subscription is not shared this way: CartCraft Plus belongs to the account that bought it. You are responsible for what happens under your account, including in a household you have joined.
CartCraft Plus
CartCraft is free to use. The free tier gives you:
- Dinners, planned for one week at a time.
- One shop.
- One set of dietary rules for the whole table.
- Three swaps and two full replans a week. Swapping in one of your own recipes is always free and does not count.
- Three recipes of your own, publishable to anyone.
- Five friends, and the whole community feed to browse and like.
- Household sharing.
CartCraft Plus adds breakfast and lunch, the week split across several shops, dietary rules for each person, saved and past weeks, the month ahead, unlimited swaps and replans, your own recipes without the cap of three, saving recipes from the community into your own collection, the friends recipe board, and room for up to one hundred friends.
What it costs
- $7.99 per month, renewing monthly.
- $39.99 per year at the current launch price, renewing annually. The launch price is held for as long as the subscription stays active.
- $149.99 once for a CartCraft Founder seat, limited to the first 150, which does not renew and does not expire.
Prices are in US dollars and exclude any tax that applies where you are. We may change prices for future billing periods, and we will tell you before a change affects you.
Billing and renewal
Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel. Where you bought it decides who bills you and who you cancel with.
- Bought on iPhone — Apple bills you through your App Store account, charges the renewal within 24 hours of the period ending, and handles cancellations and refunds under Apple’s own terms. Cancel in your App Store subscription settings; deleting the app or your CartCraft account does not cancel it.
- Bought on the web — Stripe bills you. Cancel any time from the billing portal linked in the app. Cancelling stops the next charge and leaves your access running to the end of the period you already paid for.
A Founder seat is a single payment with nothing to renew or cancel. Except where the law gives you a right to a refund, payments are not refundable, and we do not refund partly used periods. If you are in the UK or EU, your statutory cancellation rights still apply and nothing here removes them.
A subscription unlocks CartCraft Plus on both the iPhone app and the web, whichever one you bought it on.
How you may use it
Please do not:
- Break the law with it, or use it to harm someone.
- Publish anything that is not yours to publish, or pretend to be someone you are not.
- Scrape it, or pull our catalogue or price model out of it in bulk.
- Attack it, probe it, or try to reach accounts or data that are not yours.
- Resell it, or run a service on top of it, without our written agreement.
- Work around the limits of the free tier, or interfere with billing.
What belongs to whom
Your plan is yours. The names, budgets, preferences, recipes and lists you put into CartCraft remain yours, and we claim no ownership of them. You give us permission to store and process them only so far as we need to in order to run the service for you, and, when you publish a recipe, to show it as the “Recipes you share” section describes.
CartCraft itself — the apps, the recipe catalogue, the pricing model, the design and the name — belongs to us and is protected by copyright and trade mark law. Using CartCraft does not transfer any of it to you.
Availability
We will try to keep CartCraft running and useful, but we do not promise it will always be available or free of faults. We may change features, and we may stop offering it. If we withdraw it entirely we will give reasonable notice and, if you are inside a paid period, refund the unused part of it.
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms. You may stop using CartCraft and delete your account whenever you like.
Disclaimers
To the fullest extent the law allows, CartCraft is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that price estimates are accurate, that recipe or dietary information is complete or correct, or that the service will be uninterrupted or error free.
Some places do not allow these exclusions. Where that is true of yours, they do not apply to you, and you keep whatever rights your local law gives you.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Waypoint Digital LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive losses, or for lost profits, lost savings, or loss of data, arising out of your use of CartCraft — including any difference between an estimated price and what you actually paid.
Our total liability to you for any claim relating to CartCraft is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or twenty US dollars.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Indemnity
If your misuse of CartCraft, or your breach of these terms, causes a claim against us, you agree to cover the reasonable costs of dealing with it.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Missouri, United States, without regard to its conflict of laws rules, and the courts of Missouri have exclusive jurisdiction. If you are a consumer somewhere with mandatory local protections, this does not deprive you of them, and you may still bring proceedings where you live.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top changes when we do, and for anything significant we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect. Continuing to use CartCraft after a change means you accept it.
